Whole Foods Market, Austin Texas Nov. 2020 – April 2024 Whole Foods Market is an Amazon subsidiary and a natural and organic foods supermarket chain with over $18B in annual revenue, operates 550 stores with 91,000 employees in North America, Canada, and United Kingdom Organizational Development (OD) and Transformation Director Responsible for leading enterprise-wide strategic change. Worked collaboratively to access organizational data and insights, leading to diagnose root causes of business problems. Partnered with stakeholders to design, execute, and stabilize solutions. Developed the OD toolkit built to create a Community of Practice for expanding the capability for leaders.
• Led the transformation of the role of 550 Store Managers, shifting 70% of their time from compliance and checklist administration to leading and coaching their team members. The results were reduced attrition down to 8%.
• Designed and implemented an Organizational Design Process which guided senior leaders in the analysis and evaluation of their effectiveness and efficiency. Each of our 9 SVPs used this new process to restructure their teams.
• Implemented a new performance management system measuring the potential and performance of each employee. While engagement metrics for 91,000 employees are measured in basis points, a 2% gain in employee engagement was achieved.
• Sustained retention and employee engagement by eliminating any friction, tension, and bottlenecks to execution. Sr. Director, Business Readiness and Change Management Oversight of the Strategic Change Office and its Director. Accountable for executive communications including CEO speech writing. Designed, and implemented executive coaching program using external executive coaches for our C-suite.
• Partnered with Board of Directors in developing CEO succession readiness model and process.
• Designed and implemented a director level high potential program that yielded 71% of graduates being rated top 25% in their new VP role, driving a 2-year retention rate.
