Professional Experience

Middle Tennessee State University- Home and Community-Based Early Intervention- Resource Agency for TEIS

Provided Developmental Therapy to children from birth to five who have been diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability in the family’s natural environment with families, foster families, daycares, siblings, or caregivers.

Provided therapy services while working collaboratively with other professionals (ex. Service coordinators, therapist, interpreters, speech therapy, social workers and physical therapy services) to support and educated children and families.

Our role was to educate and support children, families, foster families, and caregivers so that they can take advantages of a child’s critical time period for learning, growth, and development. Each visit is individualized based on the needs of the specific child and family and provides opportunities for the Developmental Therapist and family to work together to support the child’s development.

Provided support and participated in helping develop the child’s Individualized Family Service Plan by being involved in meetings, completing visits together.

We focused on the resources, priorities, and concerns a family has expressed about their child. Evaluated and recommended services available to these families.
