EXPERIENCE
Unity Point Health, Madison — Document Processor
APRIL 2024 - PRESENT
I received documents from the hospital and clinic. Upon receiving the document they are divided up into categories. After that they are brought to my desk where I divide them into the different document types. As I am separating them into the different documents I also make sure that the patient names, date of birth and date code are on the document. If they are not, I look them up in our system to get the information needed. After separating all of the documents, I proceed with scanning them into our program. Then I make sure that all documents scan in correctly. Finally the documents are indexed so they may go into the patient chart.

Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield Hospital — Phlebotomist
March 2016 – November 2017
I check to see what patient needed to have their labs drawn and the priority of which they needed to be drawn. I would then assign my to that patient that was the highest priority. Upon getting to the room I would knock and introduce myself. I would then explain to the patient what I was there to complete. After answering any questions they had, I would ask the patient to verify their name and date of birth. Then I would gather my supplies. I would ask the patient if they had any special needs ( such as they couldn’t have blood drawn on a specific arm or if they needed a line drawn). I would then proceed with procedure. After it was complete I give the patient instruction that they could remove the band aid or wrap in a half hour. Before leaving the room I would label the patient on the tubes and scan them into our system. I would then wish them a good day and ask if they needed anything before I left. After leaving the room I would take the tubes to out pneumatic tube system that would take the sample over to our lab.
