Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the purchase and inventory of the company while ensuring smooth running of operations in the department.
Implement effective procurement strategies while ensuring cost reduction and securing quality- efficient products. This has helped on streamlining of procedures and has ruled out disorganization in the company.
Prepare and Issue Request for Quotations to appropriate suppliers.
Coordinate with other branches on their requests, item specifications, planning and budgeting for supplies and services. This has ensured the right estimates and products.
Perform market research to find item specifications, market price and appropriate vendors which has enabled us develop a supplier database and eased budgeting.
Participate in bid-openings, technical and cost evaluations and perform due diligence for awarded procurements in order to gain value for money.
Also participate in drafting Purchase Orders according to the Contracts committee's decision.
Supervise the receiving, verifying and manage inventory levels, ensuring that all items are properly labeled, recorded, and well maintained hence accurate tracking and timely lreporting.

Contributed to pre-bid meetings, site visits, opening and closing of bids which helped the organization bring to the bidder’s knowledge more clarity of what they are supposed to bid for.

Prepared contract documents for the best evaluated bidders which protected the organization from uncertainties.

ACHIEVEMENTS
I have been able to implement an annual planning process to streamline repetitive procurement of goods to increase competitive tendering and internal processes for instance, I have been able to undertake a pre-qualification exercise for the Office which is aimed at having a service provider data base for most frequently requested/procured items.
I have successfully coordinated with finance team quite often to ensure service providers payments are handled as soon as services are provided. These, I have done through ensuring that procurement documents right from Requisition, Invitations for quotations, evaluation reports and minutes, Orders, Invoices and other associated documents are well documented and submitted to finance as and when the tasks have been accomplished.
