Citrix WinTel Engineer July 1, 2017-Current Critical functions in my role at NRG have included: The consolidation of Citrix from five farms to two Move from XenApp 5 and 6.5 to 7.15. Utilizing Citrix UPM and AppLayering for 7.15 Site. Migration from Netscaler 9.2 MPX to Netscaler 12.1 VPX Production deployment of XenDesktop VDI solution for UI Path automation. Implement multiple Nutanix clusters to support VDIs and ESX for XenApp.

Lead team of 6 in the build out of several merger driven consolidations around Citrix Hybrid Cloud utilizing Nutanix Infrastructure as a Services in both NRG’s Private and NC2 Public Cloud environments. Standing up 4000 Virtual Desktops and 85 published Virtual Apps hosted on 50 on prem nodes and a “near real time business continuity” NC2 deployment on AWS bare metal systems.

Cornerstone Mortgage Senior Citrix VDI Architect April 2017-July 4, 2017 Within the environment worked with Citrix 7.6 and Nutanix to provide 2500 non-persistent desktops to offices across the country. At this site, UTH systems were primarily deployed with Citrix Provisioning Services. Worked with various groups including application teams to optimize performance while others on teams focused on Office 365. The environment was composed of two Netscaler VPX200, 44 node Nutanix cluster and Citrix XenDesktop 7.6. Additionally, we supported a XenApp Site on 7.5 which hosted specific applications which required 32bit OS or older add ons.

UTH Health Center Houston Visualization Team Lead July 2013- March 2017 Oversee four-member team who focus on VMware ESX and Citrix Systems solutions. Support 3250 concurrent users on all Citrix platforms and 8 cluster VMware farms with over 1400 guest servers. Hosting Electronic Healthcare Record and billing platforms for the University on the various Citrix environments, and Windows and Linux servers on VMware.

Design Architect and lead implementation of two-phase migration of 1400 guest servers from VMware 5.0 through 5.1 and finally to 5.5. The project included hardware refresh where HP was replaced with Dell and upgrade of underlying VM ESX. Before leaving the team completed a full migration to ESX 6.2 to take advantage of enhancements in site to site live VMotion and virtual storage (EMC Vplex) high availability. As part of this, we are enhancing the license pack to ESX Enterprise Plus, and taking advantage of the feature set included in that mix.

Migrated Citrix from 4.5 Presentation server to XenApp 6.5SP4 during which we moved Citrix to VMware, and moved off of Web Interface a Citrix Secure Gateway to NetScaler Access Gateway fronting Citrix StoreFront.

In 2015, the team deployed vRealize Suite solution for private/public cloud services. vRealize Suit will improve the flexibility of accessing compute resources for University while protecting critical medical and research information. VRealize Suit Automation Center and the role of VCenter Orchestrator workflows that delivered a quicker turnaround of computer systems.

Architected profile management solution will not only simplify BYOD policy but also unify Desktops across four management teams by deploying Citrix XenDesktop. Utilizing VMware 6.0 with XenDesktop 7.11 we will reduce access time for medical professionals by 15% over older Citrix technologies. With this migration we will be utilizing MCS instead of PVS, for XenApp targets hosting 8 Electronic Health Care packages as well as Medical Billing and four PAC tools archiving medical images and other health care documents.

The team has this year embarked on supporting application virtualization around Microsoft’s App-V 5.1. With this project we have stood up two App-V farms which allow us to provide the desktop teams as well as application teams a development farm to package and test virtualizing the deployment of their client components in a “non-production environment” before our team migrate to a production App-V farm and deliver the application to end user devices or Citrix XenDesktop 7.11.

ENI Petroleum Citrix Implementation Consultant June 2013-July 2013 Designed, Built, Deploy XenApp 6.5 production farm. The Farm is used for end users of the U.S.

subsidiary of Italian Energy Company. Setup up 145 applications on the farm with access configured for various business units.

CSC Solution Architect March 18th, 2012-May 2013 BHBP Petroleum Account

Provide detailed architecture solutions to clients, to meet business objectives. Projects that I was actively involved in have focused on infrastructure standards, Windows 2008, Citrix and have included: Worked with various business teams and their application developers to architect deployment methodologies that provide capacity planning of solutions as well as provide functionality testing that ensures smooth end user access, on the Web, Citrix, and Client Server solutions. Designed and deployed as Technical Lead and Solution Architect XenApp 6.5 farm for SCADA/Production Control Network (oil/gas plant) providing access to field data to both business and field employees. Designed the consolidation, as Solution Architect, of 5 business Presentation Server farms into three production farms, and set up Dev/UAT XenApp farm. Firewalled Windows domain that provides access to data, to a protected business network, well allowing data importing by unsecured devices via radio tower and 4G networks. Architecture design of XenApp 6.5 migration for global enterprise Architecture design and technical lead in the migration from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2 for DNS/WIN and migration of DHCP for the enterprise. Data Center consolidation and migration project. Architected the design for SCCM 2007 upgrades

Contract position JPMC - Houston, TX Citrix Senior Engineer June 2011-March 2012 Provide High-level support for Citrix XenApp 5.0 farm from migration and onboarding of applications. Provided Level 4 root cause analyst with Microsoft and Citrix. Provided support documentation the design architecture design for the upgraded farm to XenApp 6.5 farm for Corporate Services set to go live third quarter 2012. This work included working with enterprise teams in pre launch testing of applications on Windows 2008r2 and streaming before migration to XenApp 6.5. Additional effort was made to train the team on XenApp streaming and using the Web Interface to merge legacy and XenApp Farms into one view for end users, so there was additional time for the application team to develop and test their code in a new environment.

Contract position Technip-Houston, TX Citrix Senior Engineer April 2011-June 2011 Designed and deployed the pilot that allowed them to migrate, from Presentation Server 3.5 to XenApp 6.0, for a global engineering firm. Working with the various application teams and stakeholders, within the business units, I lead the development standards for deploying testing and supporting the wide range of applications. I focused the project on compatibility and capacity design as they moved from 32-bit operating system to 64-bit platform.

HP - Houston, TX March 2008-April 2011 HP - Houston, TX Dedicated Demand Review Engineer Windows Infrastructure and Citrix Engineer November 2010 to April 2011 During my time at HP I held two primary roles, the first was Citrix Engineer, which I provide detail in the lower section. In my other duties, I functioned as a Review Engineer representing the Window Server and VMware team in Data Center design and application placement. This requires me to understand:

• The standard offering of systems, storage, and virtual systems,

• Complete understanding of HP tools for logging and capturing historical data on current infrastructure,

• Knowledge of Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2003 R2 so that the greatest feature sets can be developed under application to provide reliable applications for business units,

• Understanding of the evolving hardware infrastructure HP manufactures as hardware refreshes impact services and applications,

• Understanding of how the various I.T. teams interrelate to deliver services promptly in the environment.

During my service at HP, I also served as Senior Citrix Level 4 Engineer. In this function, I was responsible for building Citrix XA6 farm for HP internal business needs. At this point Data Controllers, XML Brokers, Secure Gateway, and Web Interfaces. Building the first round of PS for this farm. Working to fine tune, Windows 2008 builds for production automated deployments. Work with Enterprise Application Team and the various platform teams in designing, sizing and deploying the migration to Citrix XenApp 5.0. Included was designing a farm that delivered GCSS, a customized version of Amdocs CRM package, to 35,000 worldwide users on 1700 server Citrix Farm. The project included:

Access Sciences Corp. - Houston, TX 2007 to 2008 Network and Infrastructure Specialist Designed and implemented solutions for the internal IT and communication needs of ASC Leveraged business and technical experience to design and deploy a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade Projects: migrated Microsoft Windows-based network, moving organization from Windows 2000 environment to Windows 2003. Employed I-SCSI SAN technology, VMWare server virtualization within Citrix thin computing environment as well as Active Directory and group policy-based management. Worked alongside consulting services in building a business practice in E.R.M and Legal Discovery Management. Build development and pilot systems for business consultation services to work with a self-contained build up tear down Proof of Concept for enterprise solutions such as Documentum, FileNet, Hummingbird as well as Microsoft Sharepoint.
