The Production Controller position is a very broad skill set. This JPL position is unique to Code 350 Recycle as no other department or project maintains such staffing. JPLs are essentially the extension of the Project Engineer and Planning Manager (PEPM) and the Project Engineer (as hired within Code 244.6 Engineering and Planning Department [EPD] and Code 2301 Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department [NEPD]).
Duties as a Production Controller within the Code 300 Operations and Code 350 Recycle Department: Understands the hierarchy of organizational Advance Industrial Management Network Technology (AIMnt) and the Authorized Work Package (AWP) such as Ship Work List Item Number (SWLIN), SWLIN Line Item (LI), Job Summary (JS), Component Unit (CU), Component Unit Phase (CUPH), and Task. Completed and the 562E AIMnt Training.
Participates in reviews of the AWP with the Business Office and Planning Office (BSPO), EPD, and NEPD to ensure the correct source manuals/requirements are referenced, obsolete procedures are deleted, and lines items are aligned to recent ship checks, inspections, and sampling results.
Provides AIMnt IRR Project roles to personnel by evaluating personnel position and a need-to-know basis.
Creates JS shells based on the authorized SWLIN LIs and inputs the appropriate LIs under the work scope. Arranges and facilitates Scoping Meetings between engineering departments and project managers which assists in determining the Work Breakdown Structure generally review of SWLIN LIs, JS Work Scope, CUPH, sequencing of work, appropriate shop tasking, long lead material concerns, and incorporating lessons learned.
Routes and provides status during JS development through AIM and JS review site. Initiates and progresses the routing of JSs for review to the project Zone Manager (ZM), Assistant Project Superintendent (APS), Code 377 Scheduler, PEPM, and Business Agent (BA).
Performs cursory reviews of JS and CUPHs to ensure the appropriate SWLIN LIs are mapped, all items with in the work scope are addressed, engineering technical review is performed, cost analysis of current estimates to historic Performance Measurement and Control (PMC) data of similar IRR availabilities, and ensuring all comments from project management and BA have been adjudicated.
Develops Level of Effort (LOE) manning plans and creates time phased CUPHs in AIMnt based on ZM guidance, historic PMC data of past IRR availabilities, and the Code 300.1 Operations Department Instruction 4730.27A. Assists in the certification of time phased CUPHs at end of the month.
Coordinates and facilitates Project Planning Timetable (PPTT) meetings with all project personnel in accordance with the Baseline Project Management Plan NAVSEA Instruction 4790.23E. Maintains the PPTT spreadsheet ensuring date formulas are in alignment with the BPMP and Customer Tasking Letter and actions are completed by the assigned organization in a timely manner. Develops meeting agendas and provides meeting minutes in order to communicate information to all project personnel with the ultimate goal of completing planning Key Events and Milestones on schedule.

The project Program Analyst position is under Code 300.1; I have been assigned to support Code 350 Inactivation, Reactor Compartment Disposal, (RCD), reporting to the Project Engineering and Planning Manager (PEPM). Supporting Project Superintendent, Nuclear Assistant Project Superintendent (APS) and Assistant Project Superintendent within the RCD program.
Providing reporting on Project Management, and operations. Working to analyze monitor, coordinate and support efforts in maintaining cost controls and schedule adherence for availability and shipyard goals and objectives. Ensuring the shipyards credibility in meeting and improving cost and schedule is met directly affecting the return of shops to the fleet at minimal cost and time duration.
