As a principal, it is important to communicate with parents, teachers, students and workers-verbal and written
Being in charge of discipline required that the right skills to decipher both verbal and nonverbal communication from students.
Prepared my lesson on PowerPoint and used various learner-centred methods to appeal to all the senses of the learners.
As a peace and conflict consultant, I used different modes of communication to different electoral demographics.
Planning/Organizing
As the principal, I manage students discipline records, organize staff supervision timetables and students admission records.
As the Housemaster of Flamingo house, I managed to organize the teams for inter- house sports competitions, turning the house from perennial losers to winners.
As the head of the Science department, I managed to plan for completion of the syllabi and organize, in liaison with other teachers Science symposia.
My degree projects have required exquisite planning, coupled with a normal work schedule.
Teamwork
As a peace and conflict consultant, I worked under a team, sometimes under great pressure. Here, flexibility and initiative were essential.
As the principal, it is necessary to work as a team with other teachers.
Research involves working with other members to complete the projects on time.
As a new member of Braeburn School, it was necessary to fit in and pick information quickly.
Training
Working for the Centre for Conflict Resolution, Coffey International, I trained women on their role in conflict resolution and the journalists on conflict reporting. Page 10 of 12
As the principal, I trained teachers on the standards and expectations of the School. I did the same training when the Covid-19 pandemic struck in 2020. Here, I trained the teachers on the use of online platforms to teach.
