Summary
To Whom it may concern:
I am contacting you to express my interest in the opening at your company. I am a highly motivated individual interested in full time employment with your company. I have 28.5 years of industrial experience with General Motors which includes 6 years as a production supervisor, 14 years as a GM certified professional trainer, 4 years in the quality department, 1 year as a plant liason between our plant and our sequencing plants, and 6 years as a group leader. I attended Kettering College after GM shut down our facility in December of 2008.
My responsibilities as a supervisor included the daily management of 50+ employees to ensure that my group met our daily goals of quality, cost, safety, efficiency, and productivity. I worked closely with plant
engineering and maintenance to minimize downtime, environmental engineering to ensure air quality
and therefore a safe working environment, and industrial engineering to eliminate unnecessary steps in the process to improve the efficiency of the overall operation. I was the plant liason for sequencing where my main focus was to assure the correct part was sent to our facility in a timely manner and that it was within spec and defect free upon assembly at our plant. This required that I spend a great deal of time educating their workforce, both hourly and plant management. As a group leader I had a lot of the same
responsibilities as a supervisor, just to a lesser extent. I assisted the supervisor in all of the
aforementioned steps. My responsibilities as a trainer included the development and facilitating of the
numerous training programs at Moraine Assembly, specifically problem solving, SPC, new employee orientation, and The Quality Network, just to name a few. Participants in my classes ranged from janitors on the plant floor all the way up to a vice-president of General Motors.
I attended Kettering Medical College for 2 years after the shutdown of Moraine Assembly, studying to become a Respiratory Therapist. I was contacted by Green Tokai and went back to work as a Quality Engineer. I worked for them as well as TBK America and later at Duramax Diesel, as a Quality Engineer at all 3.
In closing I would like to say that I feel I would be an asset to your team. You may contact me at 937-***-****, or by e-mail at- ********@***.***. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Timothy J. Ryan
