The Logistics Analyst is part of the FDC Logistics team that is responsible for making the most efficient logistics/ freight decisions. This role, in particular, will focus on managing and control the logistics data within the organization both from the TMS and the ERP. That data will be pivotal in implementing standard work as well as communicating freight costs across the organization to ensure the correct logistics decisions are being made for the company and our customers. Essential Duties And Responsibilities The Logistics Analyst requires a strategic thinker and problem solver to support both carriers and customers on a daily basis to ensure operational excellence. Working in tandem with the Director of Logistics, the Logistics Analyst will focus on two key areas: Understanding and managing data to identify opportunities within the organization for savings and process improvement. This work will not be limited simply to reviewing data in prescribed reporting and applying already existing processes but will include mining a variety of internally- and externally-available information to recommend the best processes for Fort Dearborn. This role will also manage Data integrity and data flow from the ERP to the TMS and back to ensure that accurate and timely reports are updated and accessible to the organization. Examples of key data management activities will include understanding and identifying key cost opportunity areas, modeling capacity for warehousing purposes, creating carrier usage models, etc. Utilizing information and processes to make the optimal logistics choices for the company including: identifying freight lanes, facilitating corrective action on loads, directing freight to the most appropriate carriers/lanes, etc. The Logistics Analyst communicates daily with stakeholders throughout corporate and the manufacturing plants to ensure the most appropriate freight management decisions are being made each and every time. This position is also responsible for some logistics planning functions for maximizing Inbound & Outbound freight efficiencies. Minimum Qualifications - Education, Experience, Knowledge And Skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or Business Management Minimum of (7) seven years of progressive, logistics and network optimization experience Data driven, comfortable leading / performing opportunity assessment through financial and statistical calculations and modeling Must possess excellent influencing skills as well as strong interpersonal communication skills for building relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier executives at all levels Must possess a solid understanding of logistics fundamentals and a demonstrated track record of facilitating and executing successful freight initiatives Must have experience with Warehousing analysis and basic inventory control knowledge.
