EMC

EMC Backup and Recovery Consultant

June 2010 - May 2014 (4 years)

Rocky Hill, CT

Consulted business clients on designing, implementing, and testing solutions that contributed to the overall disaster recovery strategy. Scope included ensuring data protection, meeting SLAs and RPOs, and providing efficient backup and recovery mechanisms to minimize the impact of disasters and ensure business continuity using Avamar, Networker, and Data Domain.

(SLAs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) by implementing systems to restore data and services within the required timeframes after a disaster event.

• Enhanced disaster recovery capabilities by providing faster recovery times and reducing network bandwidth requirements during data restoration using direct backups to data domain (CIFS, NFS, DDBOOST - data replication). Designed, implemented, and mangaged various POCs using Avamar, Networker and Data Domain. POCs successfully tested backups for Exchange, Oracle, MS-SQL, Sharepoint, and VMimage backups. Backups were driven via Avamar and Networker. Other solution included direct backups to Data Domain, driven by customer scripts, via CIFS, NFS, and DDBOOST.

Regularly assisted EMC professional services during system implementation. Tasks typically included managing customer admins to move the project forward, directing EMC and Customer talent on how to configure software and hardware, and driving Service Requests to successful completion for any installation related problems.

Regularly presented EMC BRS used cases for backing MS-Exchange, MS-SQL, Oracle, and filesystem backups to Data Domain using Avamar, Networker, and Direct methods. Presentations regularly used demos from the BRS integration lab for Lunch and Learn meetings with customers. The Page 3 of 4
