Family Counseling Center was awarded one of fifteen grants in the country by the National Institute of Juvenile Justice. I was the Director of the mental health grant and was responsible for the startup and implementation of Peer Review and Zones of Regulation Programs in 5 underprivileged Cocoa, FL elementary and high schools. Hired, trained, and supervised 5 Masters level clinicians who implemented the Zones of Regulation and Peer Review programs in their schools. Met with Brevard County School personnel, community providers, and trainers from the National Institute of Juvenile Justice. Made sure all policies, procedures, and protocols were strictly adhered to and maintained. Designed documentation tools, resource manuals, and training manuals.
The three components of the National Institute of Juvenile Justice were:
• Prospective longitudinal study of the aggregate effects of the program by comparing the target schools to the comparison schools.
• Evaluation of the Mental Health Training Programs.
• Student-level pre/post study to examine the direct effects of the implemented program.

In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities and duties, and due to the success of my Protective Supervision Program in Brevard County, the CEO and COO of Children’s Home Society called upon my expertise to assist our Volusia/Flagler County Division in maintaining the Community Based Care Protective Services Contract. In December, 2002, the State gave Children’s Home Society’s contracted provider of Protective Services one month to improve their operations, census, policies and procedures, outcomes and revenue or they would lose their contract.
