Family Engagement/Permanency Roundtable Facilitator

For Montrose, San Miguel, and Ouray Counties, I facilitating time-limited, outcome-focused Family Engagement meetings which include family, extended family, caregivers, community representatives, service providers and agency staff. Guiding Family Engagement meeting participants to identify family strengths and concerns. Each meeting is to develop a plan to address the concerns by building on the strengths.
I am responsible for scheduling, coordinating and conducting Family Engagement meetings at regular intervals, throughout the course of a child welfare case. Responsible for coordinating and conducting all activities associated with the Permanency Roundtable process. Establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals.
The expected outcome for the facilitated meetings is the development of action plans that will expedite level of permanency with identified work efforts and timeline goals specified. Records details accurately, sharing a written summary at the conclusion of every Family Engagement and Permanency Roundtable meeting with participants.

Social Services Manager II 08/06- 10/13
I managed two satellite Social Service Offices in South Weld County that provided Child protection and Adult service programs. I met regularly with community partners, other county supervisors and county personnel to discuss community needs and to assess trends within the county. I managed a staff of professional Social Workers, setting and evaluating professional standards of performance. I provided constructive feedback for improvement if performance is substandard.
Family Therapist 01/2005-08/2006
I performed clinical assessments of child welfare client families to make future treatment recommendations as well as development of treatment goals and plans for individual and family therapy. These assessments included the appropriateness for family based, in-home and individual therapeutic services. I provided family and individual therapy and short-term therapeutic intervention to families in crises due to Youth in Crises. I worked as a behavioral intervention specialist in an elementary school classroom setting for children with special needs children.
Lead Worker, Child Protection Intake 05/2001-01/2005
I provided case consultation and guidance in all facets of the investigative process to subordinate Intake Case Managers. I provided training and supervision to newly assigned Intake Case Managers. I assigned referrals for investigation to Intake Case Managers while maintaining a full caseload and conducting investigations and assessments. I also chaired Mesa County’s Multi-disciplinary Child Protection Team. I lectured at Mesa State College as a guest lecturer, as an expert in child abuse and neglect, to psychology and counseling classes at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
Senior Case Manager, Child Protection Intake 04/1997-05/2001
I investigated allegations of child abuse and neglect, by conducting interviews with children, adolescents, adults and professionals to assess safety, well-being, and needs of children and families. Each investigation required a report be filed with the County Department, or the appropriate court. I testified, as an expert witness, on issues such as child abuse and neglect, child development, sexual abuse, and drug and alcohol issues.

United States Army 1974-1994
I completed a career in the United States Army. From 1978 to 1994, I provided direct service, as an Air Traffic Controller, to the aviation community, both military and civilian at various locations around the world. From 1982 to 1994, I supervised up to 15 military and civilian Air Traffic Control Professionals. Counseled and provided support to staff members on job performance, training issues, personal conduct, and duty assignments. As a facility manager of a 24/7 facility, I compiled and submitted monthly and yearly reports to higher command to address staffing requirements and equipment needs. I developed educational programs to facilitate professional development and implemented procedures that provided better service to the aviation community. I was responsible for managing the budget for the facility and submitting expenditure reports to the next higher command.
