I worked in the Emergency Department at the hospital. When patients are going to be admitted to the hospital, I will interview the patient and collect the names and directions of the prescriptions, as well as any over the counter medications they are taking and find out when they last took the medication and if they are taking differently than stated on the bottle. I then enter this information for the Doctors so they have the medication history and they also know when patient will need their next dosing. This also helps at discharge so their medication list is currently updated.

In Clinical Pharmacy, FAST (Formulary Application Service Team) there were multiple duties. I worked New Member transferring new members prescriptions in to Kaiser Permanente and gathering background information needed for updating medications, when appropriate, to medications on the formulary. Customer service phones which included helping our location pharmacies and outside pharmacies get claims to process through the PBM. Also helping Member Services with member concerns regarding their benefits and billing. I also worked CBC (Criteria Based Consultation) reviewing medications for Prior Authorization and benefit coverage.

The Sunnyside Outpatient Pharmacy located in the hospital was closed and the Sunnybrook Outpatient Pharmacy was opened on the same campus. I was a lead technician for training new hires and also a lead in the inventory system and worked with the Pyxis system for the day surgery department.
