ASSISTANT RESIDENCE MANAGER
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Shall have a High School diploma or equivalent.
Must cooperate with the licensee and the Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation.
Driver’s License valid in the State of New Jersey.
Employee must submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire.
Employee agrees to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
Employees hired after 6/15/2018 shall submit to drug testing prior to employment.
Employees shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.
All employees hired after 7/16/2018 shall complete an application to have their names checked against the Child Abuse Registration Information (CARI).
This position reports to the Residential Manager.
DUTIES:
1.Review staff and individuals logs daily.
2.Complete individuals and staff logs as necessary.
3.Assist individuals in the overall maintenance of the Group Home.
4.Provide transportation to all individuals in a safe manner, in a facility provided vehicle.
5.Supervise and assist in medications taken by individuals.
6.Supervise self-help skills of all individuals; if necessary provide least intrusive assistance.
7.Initiate and follow through on leisure time activities according to individuals’ interests under the direction of the Residence Manager.
8.Assist individuals in nutritional food preparation and weight maintenance.
9.Supervise individuals with proper selection and care of clothing.
10.Provide necessary First Aid and CPR to individuals in need.
11.Attend staff meetings as and when they are called, to discuss programs, individuals and related matters.
12.Attend further trainings on an as needed basis and in a timely manner.
13.Provide input to all individuals’ Individual Habilitation Plan.
14.Communicate accurately and clearly with all team members.
15.Attend to all personal care including but not limited to: toileting, dental hygiene (brushing and flossing of teeth if necessary), bathing etc: reposition, lift and transfer any individuals who utilize wheelchairs.
16.Responsible for all other duties as assigned by the Residence Manager.
17.I understand that I may not leave the facility until my replacement staff has arrived.
18.Be prepared to be on-call over weekends in order to relieve the Residence Manager.
19.Follow chain of command as indicated for each program. This is typically as follows: Residential Manager, Residential Coordinator, Residential Director, Executive Director.
20.Always follow agency and DDD guidelines and regulations.
21.Call 911 in an emergency, following Danielle’s Law and Steven Komninos regulations.
WEEKLY
1. Prepare food-shopping list according to the weekly menu; check the house for excess stock and additional supplies needed.
2. Complete food shopping and prepare the receipts/menus and submit to the office in the weekly envelope. File the prior week's menu in the appropriate place.
3. Assign room maintenance to staff; follow through with completion of task.
4. Review Task Analysis Data and check for completion.
5. Check Medication Administration Records for accuracy.
6. Check activity sheets daily to assure their completion, remind staff with note in the staff log to complete form if needed.
7. Complete the staff log on a daily basis in a clear and concise manner.
MONTHLY
1. Prepare and complete all monthly reports and submit to the house supervisor for approval.
3. Remove and replace all water temperature charts and file in the appropriate place.
4. Assure that all community, MCARP and in house activities are reflected on the monthly activity calendar
EVERY 3 MONTHS
1. Complete quarterly inspection checklist in conjunction with the house manager.
2. Do a clothing inventory and inform house manager of clothing needed. Discard all ripped or stained clothing.
