BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the head of the unit. Is responsible for direction of the supply program of USAID/GUINEA and supervises supply/receiving clerks, warehousing personnel and casual Laborers. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs the receipt, storage and issuance of expendable supplies and non-expendable property (NXP) and the general operation of stockrooms and warehouse
Directs the maintenance of stock and property records; NXP Bar Code computer Data Base, which includes household furnishings and equipment in the custody of mission personnel;
Directs periodic inventories of expendable and non-expendable supply items.
Reconciles or approves the reconciliation of stock or property records and inventory counts with the NXP data base, and approves annotation of custody records to reflect condition;
Review the condition of NXP and recommends when property records should be retired and establishes re-order points for NXP and coordinates auction of surplus property with the U.S. Embassy and completes all forms and documents required for the sale of such property;
Establishes re-order points for expendable supply items. Prepares semi-annual requisition for expendable supplies, office furniture and certain equipment. Recommends annual budget for expendable supplies and assists the EXO
(management) in determining annual NXP needs based on the mission procurement plan;
Supervise and directs the work of the unit. Exercises full range of normal supervision including performance evaluations, minor discipline, recommendation for awards and approval of leave;
Highly involved in mission's annual procurement planning also does local purchases upon instructions from supervisor,
Prepare both monthly and annual vehicle maintenance and usage reports (COBRA REPORT).
Supervise and coordinate the receipt and insurance of fuel and prepares monthly fuel report.
