Information Technology Projects

PHP Programming -- In this project, my task was to combine PHP, HTML, and MySQL databases together to create an IT help desk ticket website with the help of adding CSS I was able to make the webpage look nice. But the goal was to have a user could create a ticket with their specific issue that would be exported to a database. The database would provide the ticket to me where I can manipulate the tickets by category or delete them if necessary.

SQL Database –In this project, I had 7 different database tables, and I had to create queries for each while providing the input form queries. These queries had to range from basic commands to more complex commands. I developed input forms to facilitate user interaction with these queries, ensuring a user-friendly interface for data manipulation. The queries I created spanned from simple SELECT and INSERT statements to more intricate JOIN operations and subqueries, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of SQL. Building upon this foundation, I implemented CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations to establish a robust connection between my SQL database and PHP backend. This integration allowed for dynamic data management, enabling users to interact with the database seamlessly through the application interface. To enhance the project's functionality, I developed an API-driven application that facilitated real-time data exchange between the front-end and the database. This API implementation allowed for more efficient data handling and updates. A key feature of the application was its user management system. I implemented secure user authentication and authorization mechanisms, allowing new users to register and existing users to log in safely. The system securely stored user credentials in the database, employing industry-standard encryption techniques for passwords to ensure data protection.

Network Implementation – I created many networks in the VMware workstation with multiple nodes on multiple subnets. The center of the network at a server running Windows 2016. Attached were a Linux FTP server and several workstations. For this network, DHCP scopes, custom firewall permissions, IP addresses, and network sharing were all configured for this project through VMware. Created a domain and added both Windows Server 2016 and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) as well as configured and added group policies.

Android Development – In this personal project, my goal is to create an application that will track the user's phone and share the location with friends. Within the project, I had to combine Java, PHP, HTML, MySQL, Mapbox API, and a little Kotlin. With those web technology, I created a REST API in order to communicate between the android application and the database. The next thing that was added was a profile so that each individual user will have their own entity. So far, the app is running and some friends are using it. I plan on fixing bugs and updating the app.

Azure Deployment – Within this project, I created an Azure account then used Azure Virtual Machines to establish a flexible server environment capable of handling varying levels of traffic. Within security and control traffic flow, networking resources such as virtual networks and network security groups were set up. The web application was deployed using Azure App Service, which allowed for automatic scaling in response to traffic demands. For data storage, an Azure SQL Database was configured to ensure high availability and optimal performance. Azure Security Center was employed to monitor potential threats and implement best practices like encryption and identity management through Azure Entra Id (Active Directory). As part of the identity management strategy, I added computers to Azure AD, enabling centralized management and enhanced security for the organization's devices Azure Security Center was employed to monitor potential threats and implement best practices like encryption and identity management through Azure Active Directory. To maintain performance and optimize resource usage, Azure Monitor was integrated into the project for tracking application performance, while cost management tools were utilized to monitor spending effectively. Use device enrollment to add windows 10 machine to windows autopilot devices then used Deployment profiles to reimage windows computer and add the device to Azure AD. The goal of this project was to present how businesses can leverage Azure's comprehensive suite of services to deploy robust, scalable, and secure web applications.
