Detailed Summary of Work Experience

Includes a wide range of activities for over 30 years to include: Lead Mechanical Engineer, Executive Custom Interiors, Primary Structure, Secondary Structure, Repairs, Stress and Liaison through all phases of aircraft completion with all stake holders. Excelling in passing down knowledge to the next generation and being involved in process improvement projects. This varied background yields a very wide view of the aircraft business with detailed knowledge in most areas. Structures Specifics: At Raytheon-E-Systems (now L3Harris) I completed many antenna installations, seat track mods, rack installations, cooling installations, frame mods, stringer mods, wire routing installations, primary structure replacements and repairs (skins, spars, frames, stringers, fittings) and large fittings (terminal fittings). I completed fabrication drawings for sheet metal, extrusion and machined parts of all types. I have provided engineering liaison to internal shops, outside shops, hangar mechanics and inspectors with installation, fabrication and assembly issues or explanations and clarifications. I designed a door that opens in flight, installed an air stair assembly, a small “STC” bag bin crane system and a precut cable system and fitting for an inflatable slide to name a few of the structural components. I worked with the tooling engineering group to develop installation tools. The L3Harris work has been done primarily on RC-135 aircraft on the Rivet Joint Program.

Lead Project Engineer: As project engineer my role oversees advance procurement of parts and materials for an aging 32 aircraft fleet. The job responsibilities were to identify future needs, research viable vendors, acquire quotes to include lead times and material costs, present that to the local customer for allocation, provide engineering and work PO’s, provide liaison throughout the fabrication and delivery phase, have the products received in and ensure payments were allocated. This role coordinated with all groups in the plant to ensure the parts and material arrive in time for required usage. The role included coordination with the local defense customer, planning, procurement, engineering and logistics to ensure success. Projects, schedules and costs were tracked in this role on a local level with a local customer with a yearly budget. My engineering background was essential in this very hands-on role; to include providing all of the liaison required at all levels of each project. This role managed an annual 4-million-dollar budget for parts and materials each year and was very successful due to maintaining good working relationships with members of each group involved in the process, through heavy involvement at all stages of the process.

Executive Interiors Specifics: Successful interior design projects/roles: Custom Galley – Kingdom Holdings 747-SPL, Headliners for Aramco 767, Project Lead for Comlux A-319 and Aramco 767. Successful monument designs include installations and designs for galley’s, lavs, beds, divans, seat tracks, stair mods, entertainment racks, sideledges, bulkheads and floorboards and many other types of interior monuments and support structure. These projects require extensive knowledge of panel pin and potted insert installations as design criteria required to design a function monument to FAA stress and loads requirements. Other projects include coordinating the setup of a Boeing pressure test for a large structural mod (large stair mod on a 747) and smaller insert tests for honeycomb panels. Aircraft I have completed executive interior projects on include many BBJ 737’s, four 747’s, several A319’s, a 757, a 767 and several 727’s.
