The volunteer prescription desk assistant supports the overall efficiency of pharmacy operations by effectively managing and prioritizing prescription inquiries from patients and volunteers. This involves looking up prescriptions in the computer, searching for prescriptions in the pharmacy, answering the telephone, and completing refill request forms.
Responsibilities and Duties
Engage with patients and volunteers to gather relevant information, address inquiries, and provide updates on prescription statuses.
Obtain and deliver prescriptions to waiting patients.
Answer the telephone, take messages, and return calls as needed.
Call patients regarding scheduled appointments (clinical and intake) and filled prescriptions.
Qualifications
Exceptional customer service skills.
Professional and courteous telephone etiquette.
Excellent attention to detail.
Effectively navigate and utilize downtime.
Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
Requires sitting, walking and bending

3 Months (One – 4-hour shift/once per week) – 48 hours total Age Minimum
