To whom it may concern:
Please accept this letter and attached resume as my sincere interest in this position.
I am looking for a company that I can invest my energy into that is a forward-thinking Customer driven organization. A company that embraces change, makes mistakes, learns, gets better, and changes.
Over the past 43 years, I have been fortunate to be exposed to and managed many aspects of the business, including the development and impact on customer relations, personnel, engineering, manufacturing, quality, IT, environmental, emergency preparedness, and financial. These jobs have sent me from Puerto Rico to China, from Vietnam to Rhode Island, and many points in between. I view my experience as a well-rounded education with awesome exposure opportunities to allow me to grow as a business leader. I have a strong work ethic, and I believe I will be a key asset to your organization.
I have an 20-year-old son going to college and a wife dedicated to taking care of our son, so yes, I need to work. But more importantly, I want to work. My definition of retirement is “getting ready to die,” which is not on my bucket list. There is always something new to learn and someone to help or mentor.
My first real job was at ATI. It was a dream job, stating out as a “B” Grade machinist and rising to level of President of the company. During my 39-year tenure at ATI, I worked with (5) ownership changes and with any new owner relationship, there are three steps. (1), understand each other, (2) breaking down walls, known as changes (for you and them), and (3) to infinity, making things better as quickly as possible, based on the groups rate of change. Being very careful about pulling out rusty nails.
June 1981 – Apr 2020 – ATI’s latest owner change, while I was there, was a successful HVAC China-based company. Their management ethics and mine ethics did not match up. The money was great, but the satisfaction was horrible. ATI fed me and my family for 40 years, and I am most grateful for that. I owe all my success to the great people of ATI and its Customers, but it was time for a change.
April 2020 – General Manager of Buffalo HVAC Partners, LLC, it was a small business with thirty people and over $8 million in sales. Buffalo HVAC was involved in residential new construction, add-on, replacement, and service. In August of 2021, Buffalo was sold to COP Hometown, which now owns over 20 HVAC companies like Buffalo. Quickly shifting Buffalo’s focus and due to acquiring duplicate layers, I was no longer needed.
September 2024, I have worked for the same ownership that owned Buffalo HVAC, as Director of Customer Service. Managing over 20 million pounds of fresh product annually. Purchasing, pricing and cost negotiation, planning, scheduling, logistics, and Customer and Supplier relations. This is all accomplished through the telephone, email, and text. Today it was time for a change!
I appreciate your time, and please reach out to me if you have any questions. I will be happy to meet with you regarding any request.
I am available from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day.
Thank you for your time and consideration sincerely,
Chuck Lewis
