Resume:

THOMAS G. SUBIA JR.

Danville CA *****

925-***-**** ~ ******@*****.***

Serving as a manufacturing operator and engineer. I offer more than 15 years’ experience leading and facilitating quality circle and six sigma teams. This has led to improvement in manufacturing processes by applying quality engineering tools such as DMAIC, brainstorming, process mapping and other six sigma tools. This has resulted in reducing process variation and decreased the probability of producing defective parts. Facilitation of these process improvement teams involved coaching these teams in Minitab statistical analyses. This coaching covered basic descriptive statistics, regression and correlation, logistic regression, measurement system analysis, logistic regression, statistical process control, non-parametric techniques and design of experiments.

For those techniques not covered by Minitab, I use R software for that. I’ve coached engineers and staff on using R for basic statistical analyses. For graph creation, I’ve introduced staff to R graphing packages, ggplot, ggpubr and ggridges. For pairwise ad hoc comparisons, I’ve introduced staff to the R package multcomp. These skills are augmented by a degree in statistics. I've completed graduate coursework at San Jose State University in root cause analysis, reliability, advanced statistical process control, design of experiments, measurement system analysis, six sigma techniques and the ISO 9000 and AS 9100 standards. QUALITY AND STATISTICAL ANALYSIS PROFESSIONAL

Seasoned and innovative quality assurance engineering professional with over 20 years of progressive experience using six sigma, process mapping, statistical process control techniques and statistical analysis to improve manufacturing processes. Demonstrated expertise utilizing root cause analysis to identify and resolve potential manufacturing process problems. Proven problem solving and analytical skills used in resolving operational issues and increasing productivity. Demonstrated expertise in training personnel statistical techniques using Minitab and R and manufacturing techniques. Contributing skills include:

Facilitate local Business unit LSS program reviews to ensure LSS principles are adhered to and buy in monitored. Provide guidance and focus to support site teams to achieve LSS roll out of KPI objectives Train and coach LSS black belts, Green belts & DFSS Black Belts in appropriate LSS methodologies Provide statistical training support for Minitab and R software FM INDUSTRIES FREMONT CA 2021 to 2022

Quality Engineer

• Synthesize quality performance data for presentation to executive leadership

• Drove improvement to department key performance metrics using statistical analysis which resulted in faster identification and response to adverse KPI trending

• Automated SPC data collection and statistical analysis work using R and Minitab software which resulted in reductions in data collection and analysis time

IMG PRECISION LIVERMORE CA 2019 to 2020

Senior Quality Engineer

• Automated metric data collection so that manufacturing staff could view metric trending in real time using Excel and Minitab. This resulted in faster identification of potential adverse trending and faster response time to process changes.

• Implemented I and MR SPC charts to monitor process mean and variation across components of that part using R and Minitab. This resulted in faster identification of potential adverse trending and faster response time to process changes.

• Automated metric extraction from multiple PDF and Excel files using R software and Minitab which improved metric reporting time and resulted in cost savings for metric reporting.

• Used Minitab’s measurement system analysis tools to ensure that metrology tools were capable of measuring to the necessary customer specifications

• Guard banded customer specification by the Gage R&R results to minimize the risk of making a Type I error FRESENIUS MANUFACTURING CONCORD CA 2019

Quality Engineer 2019

• Investigated root cause solutions for product release through nonconformance reports (NCR), corrective and preventative actions (CAPA), and material containment and hold forms (MCH) and affected lot hold forms (ALH).

• Provided statistical support and Minitab training to engineering staff IMG PRECISION LIVERMORE CA 2018 to 2019

Senior Quality Engineer

• Automated metric data collection so that manufacturing staff could view metric trending in real time using Excel. This resulted in faster identification of potential adverse trending and faster response time to process changes.

• Implemented I and MR SPC charts to monitor process mean and variation across components of that part using R and Minitab. This resulted in faster identification of potential adverse trending and faster response time to process changes.

• Automated metric extraction from multiple PDF and Excel files using R software which improved metric reporting time and resulted in cost savings for metric reporting.

• Addressed and closed out non-conformances found in AS9100 and NADCAP audits. This effort resulted in successful recertification to those QMS standards

AIR LIQUIDE ADVANCED MATERIALS FREMONT CA 2017

Quality Engineer

• Provided statistical support to Manufacturing Operations group

• Used Minitab’s measurement system analysis to reduce type 1 errors by guard-banding specifications through use of Gage R&R analysis

• Maintain, analyze and summarize the customer complaint history to drive the customer complaint issues to closure EDSI, FALLBROOK CA 2014 to 2017

Senior Mathematician

• Identified errors in Minitab version 17 pair-wise mean difference calculation which resulted in improvements in Version 18. This enabled EDSI to identify weapons KPI differences between various weapons manufacturers

• Improved Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit analysis by recommending the use of Pulkstenis-Robinson tests which detect different types of goodness of fit. This led to a more robust goodness of fit test which is independent of the number of subgroups. A better goodness of fit test resulted in improvement in diagnosing adverse munition reliability trending

• Improved logistic regression graphical interpretation using ggplot and ggpubr to plot the logistic regression which enabled users to more easily identify adverse product reliability trending EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
