Correctional Officer (Certified)

Hello. My name is Heaven Jernigan and I am a Certified Correctional Officer through FDOC. I’ve been working in Corrections almost 3 years now. July 2025 will be 3 years I have been with Corrections. I got Certified in January 2023 but started July 2022. I’ve worked at RMC in Lake Butler and CoreCivic in Lake City. I prefer younger offenders because they can still be sat down and talked to. Younger offenders can be more of a handful but younger inmates are my passion. I feel I progressed more at CoreCivic because the offenders were around my age and I knew what I needed to hear to keep me going.
