QUALIFICATIONS
ANALYTICAL LAB SUPERVISOR/SENIOR CHEMIST with over 35 years experience working for large pharmaceutical/cosmetic companies. Technical skills include chemistry, math, physical and instrumental analysis of over 1700 raw ingredients and finished products. Strengths lie in organizing group operations, completing assignments in a timely, detailed manner, with fair and equal treatment of personnel. I develop effective working relations with suppliers, sales and R&D representatives. I routinely solve manufacturing and processing problems with intermediate and finished products. I consulted with the Mounterra Company in Minnesota to develop test procedures, specifications and an MSDS for their high oleic safflower oil. I got other manufactures specifications and cost data for them as well. I have a patented line of detergents and developing a disinfectant for Pro-line Solutions in New York. I have perfect attendance for my entire working career, over 41 years.

I am directly responsible for the timely testing of raw materials, intermediate bulks and maintain raw ingredient MSDS files. I work directly with R&D, purchasing and suppliers to develop analytical methods and resolve various problems. I am directly involved with Elizabeth Arden’s supplier certification program and have been on three supplier audits. I supervised and evaluated one Chemist and three to four Technicians until restructuring in 1997. Now I supervise and evaluate two technicians, one clerk and assist/train two chemists and three technicians. I work closely with R&D writing and revising raw material specifications and test procedures for over 1300 different raw materials. I work closely with the plant engineers and manufacturing to solve many assorted problems. I also write standard operating procedures and do special projects that require my expertise.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
1. Organized Raw Materials Unit to operate more efficiently. This reduced
labor costs by $55,000 annually.
2. Negotiated with United States Pharmacopeia to improve testing procedure
for lead content in caffeine. This eliminated the need for potassium
cyanide and avoided possible law suit liabilities.
3. Since starting with Bristol-Myers Squibb, received four promotions from
Chemist (1976-79) to Raw Material Chemist (1979-80) to Special Projects
Chemist (1980-1983) to Unit Head Raw Materials Testing (1983-1989) to
Supervisor Analytical Lab (1989-1992).
4. Reorganized special projects function to run more efficiently by
developing organized filing system and writing procedures for each
project.
5. Negotiated with suppliers for improved certificates resulting in $3,000
annual savings.
6. Maintained excellent vendor relationships which allowed us to obtain
the highest quality of materials for the best price.
7. Developed a purchase order tracking system for the Quality Control
