When I started with IHC, I started out on “on call” basis as a patient services representative. Shortly after I started, I went to full time. Then in November 2008. I was promoted to the clinic business office as the Patient Accounts Representative. And finally, in June 2015 was promoted to Practice Supervisor. In this position currently, I am primarily direct supervisor to 10 employees and indirectly supervise a complete staff of 32, between 2 clinics. My job responsibilities are varied and diverse.
Keep accurate account of all schedule changes for patient services representatives, nurses and physicians.
Run monthly reports for registration audits
Review and audit hundreds of claims rejections
Mental Health Coordinator: Complete Benefits checks and authorizations for Mental Health
Sort and deliver mail and faxes to appropriate staff
Order office supplies for 2 clinics
Facilitate and lead meetings with luncheons for physicians and staff
Attend monthly meetings for managers and supervisors.
Make all changes of lab diagnosis and CPT changes for physicians
Customer service on disputed charges
Input monthly charges for all cardio stress tests
Quarterly Staff reviews and complete annual increase for each staff
Recruit and hiring for patient services representatives
Monitor medical records requests and transcriptions
Every morning attend 1st clinic huddle and or lead and escalate items to the next upper huddle.
Every morning attend 2nd hospital huddle and bring back information to clinic department.
Fill in for PSR’s as needed, registering and making appointments for patients. Checking demographics and medical records

And attend the monthly meetings, monthly huddles.
