I started my employment as a customer service representative, tasked with handling incoming phone calls and aiding Medicaid members in locating primary care physicians (PCPs) and specialists for their doctor visits. Additionally, I communicated with providers to verify HIPAA compliance and process authorization requests. During the initial phase, I also shadowed new colleagues for training purposes. I received clinical information and inputted it into the system, while also arranging transportation for members to and from medical appointments. I provided members with information about their benefit coverage and eligibility status, and assisted providers with credentialing information when required. Furthermore, I utilized the phone-to-fax system to send providers copies of members' authorization requests and uploaded clinical data from both FAX II and AUMI systems to Anthem's Health Plan.
