LEAD PRE-K TEACHER, A Child’s Place of Antioch

I created and implemented the curriculum in the classroom on a weekly basis. I got the children ready to enter kindergarten with the skills they would need to succeed. I kept records, did evaluations and reported those findings to the parents. I am a problem solver and trouble shooter, so I also had to find creative ways to teach those children in my room who learned in a different way so that they could get the most out of my lessons as well.

For the past 30 years I have been in the teaching field. Most of those years I was an actual teacher in the room and was solely responsible for all of the daily, weekly and monthly goings on in my room. There were 9 years that I was a center director where I was responsible for the whole building from teachers hiring/firing, accounts receivable & payable, ordering, budgeting, student & teacher files, parent communications, and many more duties as they came along.

For three years I ran the front office, maintained all files, did ordering as well as customer service and reservations. During the week I worked remotely along with my teaching job, and on the weekends I was in then office.

IDAPP-State of Illinois Student Loan Collections

For 6 years I worked for the State of Illinois doing student loan collections. I was seasonal help, and they sought me out every Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall break. I worked independently on special projects half the day, and customer service the second half. I had to figure out how to best help the customers and figure out exactly what they needed or qualified for. The last year I was with them I did skip tracing. I was responsible for tracking down students who were skipping out on repaying their loans.

I am a people person who has been in the teaching field for the past 27 years. I am also an avid animal lover. I volunteer for an animal rescue in my spare time. I screen their adoption applications.
