Developed Capstone Project for African American men with Co-Occurring Disorders that
presents with criminal behaviors, and it is these negative behaviors which have a major
impact on their lives. The program was developed to assist African American men in
identifying with their mental illness and addictive behaviors, and how to take the
appropriate measures in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In addition, the Capstone project
was designed to assist with job readiness, interviewing skills, GED preparatory classes,
and enhance computer literacy. Capstone Project was designed also to determine
whether the appropriate resources are being allocated within the African American
communities to address the Co-occurring Disorders issue. Capstone Project was designed
to assist African American men in understanding the devastating effectives of domestic
violence, and the negative impact it has on the family and community.
