HCI Integrated Solutions - San Jose, CA

August 2019 to September 2019

I joined the Team at HCI as a Lead Fire Alarm Technician and immediately proved my competency of fire alarm installation by easily prewiring an entire sector of a residential MDU in significantly less time then what was estimated by the foreman. My helper and I even had enough time to fix installation errors on previous sectors such as cables not labeled, missing nail plates/guards, and fire cocking. The next morning HCI's Project Manager (Reggie 510-***-****) redirected me to a struggling job site to see what I could do to help. The project had fallen FAR behind with a final fire alarm inspection date just 5 days away. Upon arrival to the job site 3 of the 4 buildings were not even close to being ready for a pretest. Most of the boosters had not even been mounted yet and virtually every wire in every closet had not been labeled when the wire was pulled. With the help of the crew and Reggie working 12 and 14 hour days we were able to tone, trace, and label all wires, mount all boosters, route wires through all boxes and flex, install 3/4” conduits to all gutter cans, install CC1 and CC1s modules for all strobe and speaker circuits for all 4 floors of 3 buildings, collect address serials for all smoke, heat, CRM, CC1, CC1s, CT1, and CT2 modules. Program EST-3 Main Panel with device serials and descriptions, Resolve multiple ground fault troubles, install CT2's for all water flow and tamper switches, and then labeled all devices throughout the entire project. We pretested the system the morning of inspection. The marshal tested and checked every device including all FSD's. The system functioned perfectly and we passed inspection. This was a very high pressure, under the gun, against all odds kind of win. HCI most likely would have not met this critical deadline had I not been redirected to the project. Mover/Driver

Lugg - San Francisco, CA

September 2017 to July 2019

I worked as a mover and driver for a quickly growing startup moving company named Lugg. I liked it because the pay was comparable to what I was making as a tech and I was able to choose my own hours. The bad part about this job was that I had to use my own truck. It was a great run, but once my truck began to fall apart after all the miles and use it was getting, I decided it was time to go back to my craft as a low voltage fire alarm technician. Fire Alarm Technician

ICS Integrated Comm Systems - San Jose, CA

October 2016 to April 2017

I installed a Notifier Fire Alarm system at Super Micro's new manufacturing facility. Lots of Scissor lift work, pulling wire 30ft in the air through warehouse rafters. We Installed addressable relay modules for shut down service of 4 over sized 35 foot ceiling fans. I Wired and installed addressable relays for elevator, normally open or normally closed depending on what they were being hooked up to. I also equipped 8 air handlers on the roof with duct detectors containing addressable relay modules for air handler shut down. Job was very smooth with minimal issues and passed inspection easily.

I worked on an extremely large Valley Fair Fire Alarm Upgrade/Expansion project which entailed us having to install both a smoke detector and notification device in every single store including the food court suites. We ran everything in 3/4” conduit and used 12x12 terminal cans at each store penetration. 16/2 SLC/DATA wire, and 12/2 NAC wires were spliced in a neat and craftsmen like manner with clear labeling. Each can was meticulously labeled to ensure zero confusion should servicing or troubleshooting may need to be done at any store. The terminal cans also make further expansion of the system much easier. We were able to complete the entire system well under the estimated target finish date and the system passed inspection easily.
