Quality Engineer (SUPPLIER QUALITY)

Deal with all Supplier and Customer non conformances. From containment to managing sort teams and certify as dimensionally acceptable or rejectable per blue prints, gauges and measuring devices.

Investigate to determine Root Cause and controls needed to error proof for the issue.

Work as a team across multiple departments to implement corrective actions and implement changes to the process to capture previous issues

Update all paperwork related to changes to instructions and process changes. Review PFMEA/CONTROL Plans to document updates for Corrective actions. Write 8D documents for Customers communicating all steps taken and controls put in place to prevent future occurrences.

Approve/deny supplier PPAP packages based on customer requirements/drawings/testing. Create PPAP folders for Customers highlighting our compliance to their requirements.

Quality Engineer

Managed and monitored the quality of all processes throughout the plant, from receiving of purchased components through multiple manufacturing processes as well as auditing the finished good going to our customers. I also dealt with customers directly for non-conformance and corrective actions

Created controls and quality documents communicating top issues, and also quality bulletins for awareness

Handled all FCA (Stellantis) warranty meetings which included root cause analysis and identification/implementation of permanent corrective actions.

Managed gauges, annual layouts, certifications and all aspects of Customer Requirements as well as the IATF/ISO/CCC audit compliances

Managed 9 quality inspectors across all 3 shifts to cover quality issues through all processes. Responsible for scheduling, time off, evaluations, training, and daily assignments

With Summit being a Tier 1 Supplier, I managed quality issues and maintained communication with our sequencer (Piston Automotive in Toledo, Ohio) and Toledo Assembly Plant (Jeeps), which required significant travel and knowledge of our products
