PRIMARY EXPERIENCE
CEO
As the Chief Executive Officer of a statewide social service agency, I was responsible for all aspects of the success and growth of the agency. Hiring the right people is key to ensuring that the mission and objectives of the organization are effectively carried out. Along with the 30+ staff we also screened and trained over 100 volunteers to assist in providing the support needed to best take care of our clients.
We held contracts with the two largest counties in Minnesota to provide services for them. This resulted in annual reviews of the programs, budget increases, staffing requirements, and client reviews. Both the counties and the State were involved to ensure that all areas of compliance were met. Over the next few years, we opened two other offices plus three help centers around the state. The team of staff and volunteers were the backbone of the organization so I focused on priority time to ensure that they were happy in their work. As a non-profit, much of our million dollar+ budget, that wasn’t met through contract of services, was raised through contributions that were elicited from speaking engagements and meetings with churches and interested orgainzaions and individuals.
COO
The King’s College in New York opened in the Empire State Building (ESP) in 1999. I was the Director of Operations and then Chief Operations Officer. My initial responsibilities included: overseeing the $5mm build out of two floors in the ESP to accommodate classrooms, offices, library and lunch area. I hired an IT person who I worked closely with to make the college the first all wireless school in New York State. The HR person was hired and trained in what the college’s mission was to insure that it was clear in the hiring of staff. We had a weekly Executive Committee meeting with the President and all the department directors to discuss the current status as well as project future programing changes and additions. I was also appointed the position of 954-***-****
