Interests / Hobbies
Cooking, Gardening, Wine Making, Fishing / Camping, Carpentry, Antiques, Fabricating designing and working in my shop.
Some of my private accomplishments.
Replaced the engine in a Massy 33 farm tractor with a 348 Chevy V8, fabricating and building all the mounts and brackets required for this project. Was probable the most dangerous thing I ever built. Finished project at age 16.
Replaced the 396 engine in My 1969 Chevelle with a 1000 Hp 454. This was a big hp engine at the time. (Awesome) Finished project at age 20.
Replaced the 400 engine in a 4WD 1979 Ford F250 with a 460 engine. Ford had not offered this engine with a manual transmission at this time. Had to design and fabricate the engine mounts and all the accessory mounts for this project. Finding a flywheel, bell housing, clutch combination that would hold the 460 was a real pain. Finished project at age 23.
Designed and built my first Go Kart with a Kawasaki H2 750 motorcycle engine. First time at Byron Dragway it produced a best time of 11.23 @ 125 mph in third gear that day. The scary part of this is I was running it around on the local highways tached up in fifth gear going roughly 200 mph but did not realize just how fast I was going until I went to the drag strip. Since then I have re geared it and have ran a 10:48 @ 125 mph Finished this at age 26.
Designed and built my first Miniature Dragster powered by a Kawasaki KZ1000 motorcycle engine. And for the life of me I cant find any time slips from the Drag strip for this guy. NHRA had banned any miniature dragsters for a period after this was completed Finished project at age 31
Designed and built my second Miniature Dragster powered by a highly modified Kawasaki KZ1000 motorcycle engine. NHRA was now allowing miniature dragsters with frame built to their specs. Ran a 9.99 @ 140 Car has more potential but I have moved on to other projects. Finished project at age 40
Designed a tower refract still that is fully automated. Controlled by a PLC and monitored by a HMI. (Used for distilling water only of course) Finished this project at age 45.
Designed and built my second Go Kart powered by a Kawasaki ZX9 engine. Have never been to the drag strip with it but it should turn mid 9 second quarters at 150 mph Maybe get there one of these days. This thing is scary fast. Finished this project at age 50.
Designed and built a Turbo system for a Kohler 12hp engine that resides in a Wheel Horse lawn tractor. Started it once and it was blowing out raw gas on the left side. Will look into this in my retirement years. Finished this at age 56.
Designed and building a motorcycle from scratch. The engine is an Arctic Cat 1000 cc two-stroke snowmobile engine. Hope to get this finished before I’m to old to pilot it. Finished at age
