SUMMARY
Over the span of more than thirty years, I have parlayed my grassroots, face-to-face sales pedigree into becoming an executive manager in the advertising industry. Over that time period, technological improvements have required me both to be flexible and adapt to dealing with (and selling) innovative, internet-based advertisements, products, and services – covering a broad spectrum of media types – all the while sustaining my solid foundation in print-based advertising. As others in my field have gotten caught in that quicksand, I have faced the industry’s challenges by being an active “player-coach” for those who have found themselves floundering.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
Playing golf avidly in my spare time; Collecting and playing vintage bass guitar(s); Traveling; Reading; Attending sporting events; Spending time with family
Sales are proudly part of my pedigree, an ability I suppose I inherited from my father, a “lifer” with the Pillsbury Company at the top of the national sales team. My father impressed upon me to try harder than the next guy – his word, “Hustle.” He would always say that I have lived by that credo, and understand it to mean that successful people do the things that less successful people do not make the effort to do. It has worked well for me.
Like my father, I am a natural, and have an insatiable appetite for all aspects of sales, but, in particular, the thrill of the face-to-face pitch. Over the years, I have sold all manner of goods and services, and have always lead the pack, wherever I worked.
Eventually, though, almost 30 years ago, I was referred by a friend to the advertising industry, and upon entering the independent directory publishing business, have achieved success beyond what I ever anticipated. Prior to my introduction to advertising, I spent a significant amount of time in construction and real estate, providing me additional knowledge that would prove to benefit me throughout future relationships and business interactions.
Outside of the daily grind, I am an avid golfer. I was fortunate enough to compete in five U.S. Amateur Qualifiers. Also, since childhood, I have been an accomplished bass guitar player, a hobby I still enthusiastically enjoy today. Most satisfying, however, are my three wonderful children.
My journey in life has been intersected by many wonderful people who have blessed me with their support, business, and friendship. Today, I am exploring the land of opportunities for my next chapter of life. I hope to make my way back to a company where my passions and talents can excel.
I am lucky, but remain a firm believer that hard work creates luck.
