Law Enforcement Expertise
Leadership/Management:
Successful development and implementation of the Community Oriented Policing Strategy in the District.
Oversee and manage critical incidents, including active shooter responses and barricade situations.
Responsible for the hiring of civilian and management positions. Assess new hire eligibility, overall fitness. Determine title and pay grade based on departmental budget and candidate’s work experience.
Fiscal budgetary responsibility for staffing, overtime and general administrative expenses. Overall responsibility for formulating policy, setting goals, defining procedure and objectives and recommending promotions for all supervised staff. Direct the day-to-day activities of command personnel.
Monitor subordinates’ performance, investigation activity and productivity in accordance with departmental mandates.
Ensure that police personnel are assigned and conducting their duties properly. Oversee patrol of assigned areas to enforce laws, regulate traffic, prevent crime and arrest violators; attend community board/council meetings.
