TEMPLE UNIVERSITY, Director of Multicultural Development & Recruiting 2004 – 2008

School of Dentistry; Philadelphia, PA

Recruited back to Temple having served previously as Associate Head Coach of Women’s Basketball. Hired to administrative leadership role to evaluate and interview prospective students as Dean-appointed member of Admission Committee. Manage complex budget with full fiscal responsibility for $32K+ in recruitment, marketing and communications, retention and development, and office operations expenses, and shared responsibility for $208K annual budget.

An Athletic department model was used to increase minority population by 34% and the implementation of creative strategy, 120 recruitment visits, networking with 135 pre-health and career advisors, and extensive travel to schools in 12 states exceeded all expectations.

Raised funds and Secured grant from Aetna Foundation to provide cultural competence training to faculty and students by collaborating with Director of Outreach to execute development and fundraising efforts...

Coordinated a marketing plan and advertising efforts targeting underrepresented minority students by producing and distributing CD-Rom and poster with reply card, and developing Multicultural Affairs Office website scheduled to go live in September 2005.
