CURRICULUM VITAE

I. PROFILE

I am a self-motivated and hardworking professional with a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, currently pursuing a Master of Science in Midwifery at the University of Rwanda and I have a blend of midwifery and clinical Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) experience. With over 10 years of clinical experience as a midwife from a busy maternity service, I have gained kills in both mentoring and implementation of maternal and newborn related health interventions. I have an extensive experience in the provision of Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care

(EMONC) including assisting caesarian deliveries, which provided me the experience of collaborating with gynecologists and anesthetists in the delivery of maternal and newborn care.

In addition to the provision of care, I am also experienced in coordinating and implementing mentorship for both EMONC and IPC. As part of my role in the USAID-Ingobyi Activity, I worked with professional associations including RSOG, RAM and RPA mentors to mentor hospital staff, where I led mentorship in infection prevention and control. I also coordinated the mentorship of anesthesiologists in critical care in the period of COVID 19. The mentorship included trainings using Low Dose High Frequency (LDHF) approach, case studies, simulations using anatomic models, bedside teaching as well as focusing on collaborating with hospital to improve working environment and systems to create a more conducive environment to provide care.

My mentorship experience is paved by my participation in teaching. As a master's student, I am trained in adult learning and mentorship with a focus on midwifery practices and I have contributed to teaching midwifery related courses and supervised students during their internships to enhance their skills and competencies. Self-motivated with strong managerial and organizational skills, I am certified national master trainer in IPC, hold training certificate in quality improvement and I am an active member of Rwanda Midwives Association (RAM).
