Extensive knowledge of all functions of municipal water systems and components. Ability to maintain grounds, buildings, streets, and equipment. Have been cross-trained in all public works areas. Advanced computer experience. Effective written and verbal communication skills with co-workers, city staff, agencies, public service departments and regulating authorities.

Through a lifetime of interest in machines, have had experience with small and large engine repair. Have had experience in driving and operating road maintenance and repair machinery and driven all truck and vehicle types.

Water/Waste Water Operator

Perform Supervisory technical, skilled and manual work to operate the City’s Class C water system and Class C wastewater collection system with 6 lift stations, reading meters, participate in street and parks maintenance, operate equipment for snow plowing and removal and assist in cleaning/maintaining City-owned buildings. (This position is highly visible to public while performing work tasks). Serves on primary call status and responds to emergency situations. Reports to Public Works Superintendent. Communicates with: Internally- Office staff and other public works employees, police and fire departments, and city engineer; Externally – MPCA, DOH, DNR, EPA, state and county transportation agencies, and metropolitan wastewater authority.

Minnesota Health Department Class B Water License,

Minnesota Pollution Control License Class S/B

Minnesota Class B Commercial Drivers License, Tanker Endorsement.
