Responsibilities
have 2 years experience operating a multi-step extruder and die process at Hancor Inc. produced
a dual wall drainage tile, with a corrugated exterior and smooth wall interior. A delicate balance of
temperatures, air pressures and line speed were required. Some of my duties included: Set-up of every
aspect of the process (excluding raw material, which was supplied by the blend room), taking samples,
using a micrometer to assure specs were met and if any adjustments needed to be made to the die,
temps or line speed, keeping a flow chart of those measurements and supplying the samples to QC and
QA, extruder zone temperature and line speed adjustments for blend changes, purging, change overs,
logging OEE's and flow chart info into the computer, use of a band saw and nail gun for lumber and
banding to build the packaging, supervision of 1-4 packagers depending on the product, regular shut
downs to clean residue buildup on the cooling plug, synchronizing speeds of auxiliary equipment, use of a
forklift and Harlo tractor to take the finished product to the yard, basic repairs, preventative maintenance
and of course troubleshooting various problems.
