Summary
In my years of experience in manufacturing I have been working in each trade and reaching the level of a craftsman in each of them. Because of that, it is easy for me to make my maintenance team to feel comfortable doing their work with clear expectations and goals with safety as my number one priority, and immersion in TPM as a daily way to do their work.
“A good maintenance team is proactive and practice predictive maintenance”
Work History
2018-to date- Electrical and mechanical contractor– National and International
Electrical installations, control engineering, Industrial repairs, Design and automation.
Creation of CMMS systems and consulting for innovation and functionality of maintenance and packaging departments for clients having excess of downtime. Training client’s technicians to establish a different approach to PM and PDM to obtain a more effective team based in the principle of Toyota manufacturing TPM vision.
Contracting on projects for the following clients
National
BASF Chemical corporation. …Georgia .Project Packaging department innovation.
2022-2024 Packaging Engineering (contract)
In charge of the automated packaging department that includes fillers, cappers, labeling, case packers, case tapers, robotics, automatic palletizers and depalletizers.
Improvement engineer, designing and creating mechanical components, for the automation of machines using AutoCAD mechanical and electrical.
I created and designed 50 company approved inventions and Auto Cad blueprints that were used to fabricate components by a local machine shop. Packaging improved its efficiency and reduced downtime hours, using my constant innovation approach.
Customer had a 50% international product reject because of bottles leaking, my Enercon redesigned induction sealer solution resolved the constant international customer complaints, making each bottle a non-leak final product.
Schwan Bakery (Contractor) 2021-2022 Georgia
Overseeing electrical distribution, electrical repairs, and manufacturing automation.
I redesigned a filler and eliminated their need to buy a new filler.
Corrected multiple programming mistakes in Allen Bradley factory talk, 5000, and HMI’s
Trained operators in AM maintenance principles and implementation. Maintenance personnel were trained to use a PLC as a troubleshooting tool.
INTERNATIONAL
Bavaria Beverages. (Contractor) Colombia, Automation project.
Filling and capping system. This automation project increased the speed of packaging for a 40 % on customer orders completion. Slashed payroll maintenance administration costs 30% by negotiating pricing and fees with vendors, while ensuring the continuation and enhancements of services.”
2016-2018 . After starting my contracting business, I was recruited and hired by PolyOne corporation as their Maintenance Manager.
PolyOne Maintenance Manager Kennesaw, GA
Oversees the function of the maintenance department, for a 200k sq.ft plant, using CMMs program such as E-Maintenance, producing work orders and assigning them to mechanics and electricians.
In charge of Capital projects, starting with creation of blueprints using Auto-Cad Mechanical and electrical, presented to contractors with requirements, receiving and accepting contractors’ bids and direct involvement until project completion.
Personnel ADP attendance, creation of purchasing orders, capital expenditure, .
Responsible for building inspections, EPA, Fire Marshall, and OSHA.
In charge of daily operation of special coating, base, ink production, packaging and utility equipment, such as boiler, cooling towers, chillers and air compressor distribution.
After finding corrosion levels affecting the chiller system that cost $80000/year in jacketed vessels and piping repairs, introduced a water treatment program using filtration, corrosion electronic control systems and a daily monitoring program.
Eliminated the air compressor repairs and pm from an outside contractor to in-house pm and repairs, reducing expenses from $150,000/year to $20,000 in labor and parts. Included an oil analysis per pm.
Introduced a vigorous p.m. program and reduced accumulated incomplete p.m.’s from a total of 2000 work orders to on-time, using CMMS Fluke e-maintenance. (CMMS)
Established documentation of each manufacturing machine using CMMS program and created engineering data, with AutoCAD drawings in it and yearly expenses cost per machine.
Established the first computerized inventory program and reduced in a 20% the maintenance budget expenses per month, negotiated vendor terms and prices following a strong contractor’s supervision to get better results at lower costs.
Designed and built a new pressure portable automatic machine to clean in 30 minutes mixers of 10,000 pounds capacity from which took 3 hours previously to complete.
Finished automation project of liquid unloading trucks with automatic level control and alarm system, for sixteen farm tanks of 16 to 18000 gallons capacity.
Designed an electrical control operations system to start all electrical utility equipment from one location by one person on plant start-up, using Omron PLC and compressors automatic pressure controls. Before the completion of this project, took a person one hour to start each of the utility equipment taking the risk of flash hazard when opening the panels to turn on equipment breakers.
On 2014, I started a new business venture using my experience and my Contracting licenses.
2004-2014 PepsiCo, Inc. SEM /Technical Department Atlanta, GA
Drives Expert and PepsiCo True Blue Employee designation.
Responsible of two production lines producing 750 bpm~ each.
In charge of electrical and mechanical operation from batching and mixing, hot-filling, packaging, labeling, case erectors, to palletizers.
PLC master controlled equipment specialist.
Trained by Toyota/Japan in TPM for Pepsi Cola Bottling preventive maintenance.
