All investigation, evaluation and negotiation of settlements in the most effective, expedient manner with overall reserve and expense savings. During employment at CNA Insurance Company managed field adjusters in a multi state territory for claims in excess of $200,000, approved all reservations of rights and/or disclaimers and tenders of coverage matters. Directly handled various class action tort matters, participated in trials and mediations of high exposure losses and audited the claims practices of various field offices. While employed at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies as a Litigation Examiner responsible for all litigated Casualty claims, medical and dental malpractice and non profit Directors and Officers liability. Successfully managed the Company's Cook County pretrial program to effectively reduce inventory of litigated claims. attended and continuously evaluated all pre trials, mediations and trial of case load with excellent results on behalf of the Company(s) and policyholders(s). Consistently exceeded monthly goals on case load with significant reserve and expense savings. Participated in audit of other claims offices and various settlement teams to reduce pending files in other offices. Direction and control of defense counsel with yearly audits of their files and billing practices and negotiation of fees. Testified on behalf of Hanover Insurance Company in a Bad Faith case wherein Hanover successfully defended in an auto theft fraud case I handled while under their employment.
SUMMARY OF OTHER RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS
Since 1995 I have had continuous exposure to the Claims Industry through various temporary assignments for various insurance carriers and agents. The most relevant to qualifications include AIG in Construction Defect Claims, Excess Surplus Lines including Dram Shop Liability for Interstate Insurance. Participated on a Cook County Medical Malpractice jury to a defense verdict for three weeks, gaining valuable insight to evidence and jurors' evaluation of testimony. Recently have provided consulting services to defense/plaintiff counsel in insurance coverage matters, bad faith and casualty claim litigation.
