Assists in the development and implementation of new policies and work methods designed to reduce departmental costs, promote operational efficiency and fosters improvements in the development, maintenance and safety of the City of Lynn’s cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, streets and related infrastructure.
Experience and proven skills in written and oral communications and possesses a thorough understanding of the activities and operations of a multi-disciplined municipal service agency, a working knowledge of Massachusetts Civil Service, Public Works regulations and procedures and an understanding of the application of computers and related technologies to the efficient operation of a diverse department. Knowledge of public administration, ability to work and interact with constituents, employees and Department Heads. Assists the Commissioner in the implementation and compliance of disciplinary and grievance procedures; Oversees the formation of all required reports, Minutes of Meetings (Cemetery, Park and Stadium). Oversee and administer all public relations for the department, including the department’s web page.
