Interventional Radiographer
1.Assists the physician in operation with the cathlab C-Arm Machine
2.Operates the cathlab C-Arm Machine in providing detailed quality images of the heart coronaries and the whole vascular system.
3.Assists the physician in choosing the best reference image for the roadmap in interventional cases.
4.Calibrate and measure while utilizing the QCA (Quantity Coronary Analysis) to assess the vessel size for interventional cases.
5.Maneuver the cathlab C-Arm tube in relation to patients and staff enabling access to desired tube angulations during procedures (i.e. AP, RAO, LAO, Cranial, Caudal angulations) while giving the special emphasis to the standard tube angulations od the right and left coronary arteries which are AP Caudal,
RAO Caudal, LAO Caudal (spiders view) AP Cranial, LAO Cranial, RAO Cranial.
6.Set up the IVUS system (intravascular ultrasound) register, connect the catheter, prime and ringdown to be ready for the procedure.
7.Set up the digital injector system by using new syringes, load contrast injection which are (volume, flow rate and psi) needed for the procedure and ensure that no air bubbles are present in the system. Register each case in the cardiac catheterization laboratory logbook.
8.Ensure that all staff members present in the theater are fully protected from scattered radiation. Check individuals are wearing proper lead shielding (Front and Back covers, Thyroid shields and personal dose monitoring device prior procedure.)
9. Analize angiogram studies, transfer the recorded images in the PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) and burn or record medical CD’s for the physicians and patients reference.
10.Ensure correct labeling and filing.
11.Ensure proper storage of lead safety apparels.
12.C-Arm and ultrasound machine functions/maintenance and sterilization.
13.Performs other job-related duties as assigned such as ERCP, x-ray procedures, fluoroscopy guided biopsies or aspirations.
14.Attends to stat on-call procedures.
Diagnostic Radiographer
1.Performs job functions consistent with the corporate vision and mission statements and the core values of the organization.
2.Validates doctors’ instructions on the type of examination to be done; sets schedules and coordinates preparation for examinations to be conducted with the patient.
3.Provides briefing and orientation to out-patients on the preparation required for radiologic examinations that they will undergo.
4.Uses equipment and accessories, employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self and other members of the health care team.
5.Assist the Radiologist/Sonologist in performing interventional studies like abdominal, chest biopsies, paracenthesis and thoracenthesis.
6.Assist the Radiologist in performing interventional studies like CT guided biopsies.
7.Manipulates images in workstations according to department standard and provides the radiologist with quality diagnostic radiograph.
8.Records and releases results of examinations conducted on the basis of proper authorization; retrieves films and examination results from doctors and hospital staff who borrowed it.
9.Maintains equipment, undertakes basic trouble shooting repair during minor malfunctions; refers other requirements on maintenance repairs to the Medical Equipment Engineer.
10.Undertakes work activities in conformity with the institutional guidelines on safety and infection control.
