Although this position was an internship I did during my senior year of High School, I learned a lot about educating children. The teacher I was an aide for was also new, this was her first year teaching. Together we both developed skills such as clear communication with a child, time management, and becoming more tolerant of small things that would have otherwise irritated us about the job. I enjoyed this internship and bonded with the children I helped teach. When the pandemic hit, the internship sadly ended early.
Brookville High School, Lynchburg, VA -Librarian Assistant August 2019-March 2020
This was also an internship that I did during my senior year of high school. I worked in our school library with two others during the first two classes of the day. Under the instruction of our librarian, I would shelf and organize books, clean the library, help students do research, sign out books and computers, and do book returns. I loved this internship, and wish it hadn’t been cut short by the pandemic.

I was a seasonal cashier at Michaels, and also occasionally worked the floor. The job entailed making sure customers were happy and satisfied at the end of their shopping experience, as well as checking out and bagging items, answering phone calls, and handling money. If I worked the closing shift I was also expected to clean the front of the store and bring in displays from the front of the store. When I was asked to work the floor, I would work my way through aisles rearranging items and putting items in their desired aisle to make the store look better. I did enjoy this job, and I was asked to stay on after the holidays ended, but I unfortunately had to quit for my move here to Germany. While my time at this school was brief, I definitely made my mark as captain of both our Debate Team, our Academic Bowl team, and by participating in our Miss Brookville Pageant on a campaign about spreading Mental Health Awareness at our school.

I have transferred to Southern New Hampshire University after George Mason University pulled my degree from their online degree options. I am pursuing an online degree currently, due to the fact that I am a military wife living abroad in Germany! I love law, and debate, and standing up for what is right, but my entire life I have longed to be an author, which is why I am interested in creative writing. I am excited to be graduating this Sprimg with my Bachelors Degree, and enter into a fulfilling career.
