Mechanical and Millwright Estimator / Project Manager - DS Anthony and Associates LLC
My duties included, estimating, and managing all aspects of their Mechanical Installations and Millwright Projects. I also helped with Business Development and added several clients to Dave’s company. The company is small and liked being a smaller “do it all” kind of contractor and could not afford to bring me on board as a fulltime employee. Most projects that I was involved in were one of a kind one-off type task. This included Boiler demos and HVAC installations.

I set schedules and crew productivity goals and worked with the company superintendents to identify short falls. I accepted the role as Keen’s Millwright Trainer for their Apprenticeship program. This Merit Shop Millwright Apprenticeship is the first Millwright Apprenticeship Program in the state of Iowa and is sponsored by the ABC and Department of Iowa Labor.

My duties included project scheduling, for the Millwright Crews and Iron Workers, and estimating industrial projects at heavy industrial manufacturing facilities, such as John Deere, ALCOA, Mid-American Energy, Gerdau and others. I also vetted Subcontractors for these projects. Part of my duties included sales and marketing in the Quad City Area, for which I was successful in creating a strong client base and increasing our revenue in the QCA market to 2.4 million dollars.
February 2012 –May 2013
Project Manager - Walbridge Industrial.
My duties include sales, estimating and project control. Walbridge is a self-perform construction Millwright Specialty contractor. I have estimated and managed equipment installations and overhead crane revamp projects in Iowa and Illinois. One of my project responsibilities was to provide Warehouse Management Services and equipment requisitions to the various onsite contractors for a $320 million-dollar expansion. With over 2500 pieces of equipment coming from several different countries, the need to track, coordinate delivery and inspect this equipment played a pivotal role to the project’s success. This task included coordinating the equipment loading at several of the nation’s largest docks and transporting the equipment to Davenport, Iowa. Offloading and staging the equipment and material in a manner that allowed the contractors to requisition when needed. I created the custom requisition form that was approved by the owner and contractors. After the bulk of the equipment had arrived and was installed this position with this client ended.
