Education:
Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering
Canal Suez University Egypt 1975 - 1980
Technical Achievements:
Below are a few highlights of technical achievements during the past years:
Studied and changed well casing design to slimmer wells which led to saving well cost by $250,000 per well in Bu-Hasa and Bab fields in UAE.
Challenged and successfully achieved directional kicked-off wells from Nahr Umar shale formations, which was very challenging in the past while using water base fluids (KCL PHPA's) instead of using OBM to continue protecting the environment.
Was a member of a team thar successfully used 8-1/2" PDC bits to directionally kick-off wells from vertical to 90 deg's in Bab field. This led to increasing the drilling rate of penetration by 100% and saved a bit trip per section.
Member of team responsible for well design, planning, drilling, completing of the three most deep, high temperature sour gas (45% H2S), and oil producing wells in Bab and Bu Hasa fields. Wells successfully were safely executed, tested, and abandoned.
Participated in the very early applications of drilling using PDC bits with motors in onshore operations which led to the most recent dramatic improvement in drilling penetration rates versus using rock bits and deliver economic wells.
Was part of the team that improved the drilling and completing Sahil field wells durations and costs by 50 %
