Responsibilities included the supervision of an assembly/rework area, a systems test area and a FRU test area. This included the management of up to 16 employees. This included creating and updating process and organizational flowcharts as well as developing and updating ISO 9001 work procedures and other ISO 9001 documents for both my department and others as well. I worked closely with the contract manufacturer and production manager in the development of a direct fulfillment model for the box building of units at the contract manufacturer. I created and maintained Excel spreadsheets to track the testing of units and FRU assemblies. I also created spreadsheets to accurately maintain attendance and time reporting for each individual. Worked with each person, together producing an individual work and development plan, a tool to help them reach their specific goals, which was also used as a measure in their yearly performance appraisal. Developed training modules to help the individuals in their professional growth within Lucent. Assisted Senior Management with numerous projects. I had weekly meetings with my direct reports to set weekly and quarterly targets, as well as any pertinent company information, gathered from the production manager and production planner as well as other sources. Responsibilities included debugging of various assemblies and systems based on the i960 and 68000 microprocessor. These were T1, T3, DS0-DS3 and OC3 through OC192 based switches.
