May 2022 – July 2022
Accounting Specialist, Temporary, Morningside, Olympia, WA
This was a temporary position to cover an employee leave. I assisted the Accounting Manager, Johanna Mathis, in processing current accounts payable, receivables, and entering data to update the new accounting system. It was great experience interacting with government accounting as most of the customers were local governments utilizing clients with disabilities as an integral part of their systems. Assisted in matching revenues to receivables and researching past due bills, invoices and receipts that had been overlooked in the transition from the old system to the new software (Business Central by Microsoft)
August 2013 – Present
Administrative Manager, NW Excursions Limousine Service, Hoquiam, WA
In the 9 years I have been with NW Excursions Limousine Service, I created an accounting workbook prior to getting Quickbooks that served a respectable purpose in being able to track account payables, receivables, company expenses, and 1099 data which was not in place prior to my service. Since then, the bills are paid on time, the necessary license renewal process is anticipated and financially planned, and a budget was created to curb costs and visualize where the money is going and how best it can be utilized. I also created a website that casts a broader regional net to capture a wider user base that expanded our service up and down the I-5 corridor. The business is fully automated now and can be operated with a cellphone if necessary to be able to make reservations, check availability and assume a seamless and effortless experience from the customer.
April 2016 – December 2017
Office Administrative Manager, Black Creek Construction, Aberdeen, WA
In the year and 8 months I was Office Administrative Manager, I solely managed the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll data entry that was completed by the accountant, prepared quarterly taxes, general reception both in person and on the phone, started the process for bids on jobs, assisted in maintaining safety compliance in the field per the directives of Labor and Industries, processed mail and kept the owner informed of all processes through transparent communication and teamwork.
September 2015 – December 2015
Office Temporary, Kelly Services, Olympia, WA 98501
Through a temporary position at Propoint Business Solutions, I learned to proof and process renewal forms for the small business sector through Association of Washington Businesses. Through that process I learned to work in a team atmosphere that was fast paced and detail oriented. I also learned to understand from a very rudimentary, uneducated stance about how the insurance business works for small businesses. This was a heavy data entry position that required extreme attention to detail and a high level of accuracy because once the application is processed it cannot be modified. I learned and became proficient at using DocuSign as well as transmitting information in an encryption format to assure confidentiality and compliance with the Insurance Commissioner.
March 2014 – March 2015
Cashier, Home Depot, Aberdeen, WA
Primary responsibilities were focused on the front of the house cashier and credit sales. Required an attention to detail when entering data into the register and counting back change for cash payments. Processing of credit cards and payments to Home Depot credit accounts. Maintaining cleanliness at the front of the store and being able to assist customers by accessing the correct department personnel to further assist inquiries from plumbing to building to garden advice. Further developed my teamwork skills by jumping in when other departments needed assistance and when we did annual counts of inventory.
October 2012 – August 2013
Office Assistant 3, Clinical Engineering, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, WA
Main responsibilities included: Reception both in person and via the phone, setting up meetings between departments and arranging for rooms, data entry and queries into the TMS asset management system, making weekly schedules for the engineers and technicians, accepting applications, and setting up interviews, taking work orders from other departments and connecting them to a technician via pager, cellphone, and email. Involved in formulating the policies and procedures manual. Administrated the department SharePoint page by editing and adding information for the company intranet for our department.
