With over 34 years of experience as a Pipefitter in the Service, New Installation and Fabrication fields of the Plumbing/Pipefitting trade, I hold a broad range of experience in residential, commercial, light industrial new construction, as well as in the oil & gas sector (air/gas compression & oil separator package fabrication).
I also have extensive plumbing piping system installation, fixture service, repair and replacement experience coupled with detailed functional knowledge of sanitary waste and venting + domestic water and hot water heating piping systems, and their traditional layout in commercial buildings. I am also proficiently seasoned within the service industry maintaining a large variety of gas fired heating appliances and air conditioners, including routine filter & major component changes, full replacement, orifice sizing and propane conversions as well as Plumbing Fixture Service/ Replacement, Appliance Install and Piping Repair.
My primary focus and specialization in this trade has been, but not limited to, gas fitting, steel pipefitting and secondarily, plumbing. This would include but not be limited to the assembly of anything from shop fabricated steel fittings (small to large scale tees, wyes, elbows, headers, etc.), working alongside with “B” pressure welders exclusively in both field as well as shop environments. This would include Butt weld, Socket weld and threaded piping of all schedules, including Stainless Steel. For structural welding experience I am confident with arc and wire feed welding as well as accurate cutting with gas for any pipe, pipe supports and brackets. A strong mathematical aptitude and mind set for working with formulae to calculate offsets, angles and reference dimensions for piping design, layout, fabrication & install has acted as a benefit as well.
In addition, the confidence of exceptional product & material knowledge, I also understand and appreciate their application to a significant degree. I am energetic; with strong relationship-building and proven verbal and written communication skills as well as fact based critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Professional Experience:
1. Assembly of oil & gas scrubber/separator packages as well as large scale air and gas compression packages involving all piping and schedules
(Structural welding of pipe supports, hangers and brackets).
1.Rough in of steel Hot Water Heating lines up to 14” + branch lines leading to appliances. (Threaded, Butt Weld, and/ or Victaulic).
2.Bench Fit piping spools, Butt/ Socket weld including some Stainless Steel. Attachments such as Weld, Thread and Sock o’lets, pipe shoes and lifting lugs.
3.Complete Pyrex Chemical Waste piping (tempered glass) on a renovation for Calgary Laboratory Services.
4.Installation both high- and low-pressure Gas piping systems, Domestic Water and mild Drain/ Waste/ Venting in residential (single family) as well as apartment (multi-family) and high-rise (multi-story).
5.Ensure that the equipment used for the job is safe for use, in a good state of maintenance and provided with the required protections.
6.Stop activities if required, on grounds of safety if they were to continue, could cause damage or injury.
7.Able to determine layout requirements, select type and size of pipe, Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size, Tack weld, braze, Cement or Solder pipes and joints, Test system for leaks, Remove and replace defective components, Rig material and equipment, Operate Power Lifts and Overhead Crane.
