Duration : 6 months (Dec 2000 – May 2001)
Role : Software Engineer
Responsibility : Test automation using Rational Robot Project: Data Archival, Retrieval and Analysis Package (DARAP) DARAP package has been developed to automate testing processes and rectification of the entire main and subsystems prior to launching of the satellite. This package forms a part of the ground checkout for testing. Various simulation parameters generated through the Spacecraft Checkout Division are tested so that the actual functioning of the various systems and subsystems of the satellite can be recorded and rectified. It is built on the Client Server Architecture. The Telemetry Receiver of the Ground Checkout logs the values of the various parameters at any given second, into Flat Files. The data in the Flat Files are in ASCII format. Automatic Checkout Software System, a part of the receiver does this. The Archival module of DARAP reads these flat files and divides every line into required no. of fields and inserts them into various tables in the DARAP database. The Archival Module is built using various Pro*C, C and External Procedures and Oracle Call Interface. The Retrieval Module is built using various PL/SQL programs comprising of both stores and external procedures. This module converts the ASCII values to Binary, Hex, Octal and Decimal formats as the need may be.
The Analysis module is built using the Client Software Forms 5.0, Graphics 3.0 and Repots 3.0. The values that are converted by the Retrieval are suitably processed after applying various conversions and Engineering Units. Finally, the processed data is displayed to the user in the user-friendly format. From this data, the behavior of various system, every second can be studied and suitable changes in the hardware of the Satellite can be done
