Responsible for coordinating the care of 7 clients from the ages of 6 to 17 in a group home setting for troubled youth from various backgrounds of neglect, abandonment, and legal issues. Staff under my charge would include BHTs and was responsible for coordinating with social workers, therapists, and physicians in the care of our clients. Responsible for ensuring clients would receive their prescribed medications, conducting group therapy sessions, and participating in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings. Also responsible for the safe transport of clients to and from appointments and outings in a passenger van as well as ensuring all group home facilities were up to state and federal regulations for continued certification and licensing purposes. Expected to be timely, courteous, professional, and maintain a calm demeanor as house manager as well as ensuring accurately and timely documentation of all care and services provided for our clients. Shifts would include over night stays and taking call.
Responsible for assisting in the multi-disciplinary management of 20 adult patients in a level 1 locked psychiatric unit consisting of acute episodes of psychosis, drug detox, behavioral issues, and other various mental health issues during 12 hour shifts. Unit duties include providing structure and boundaries, redirection for less desirable behaviors, intervening in conflicts utilizing the training we have been given, keeping unit in a clean and proper shape, rounding on patients per physician order, accurate and timely documentation of all care provided, and collaborating closely with registered nurses, physicians, and social workers in the care of our patients.
