North American Shoe Company, Inc., East Providence, RI 2015-Present

Chief Financial Officer

Accountable for the operational, administrative, financial, and risk management of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results directly to the Investor Group ownership team located in Canada.

Act as the primary liaison with internal and outside auditors for audit activity and other projects as needed. Provide forecast projections based on historical seasonality typically utilizing the mean and trimmed mean approach in order to provide both cash flow needs and manufacturing/purchasing timeframe requirements. Manage office personnel and warehouse staff to maintain proper efficiencies and productivity while retaining a favorable work/life balance.

Established in 1918, North American Shoe Company is a wholesaler, catering to the needs of shoe stores, catalogues, sporting goods stores, and internet sites. We are the sole distributor in the USA for Foamtread slippers and Tundra boots.

Vice President, Commercial Lender – Business Banking Division

Managed the Rhode Island and South Eastern Massachusetts market working directly with businesses and medical practices typically with up to $50MM in revenues to provide financing from $500,000 to $10,000,000, cash management services, business payment solutions, wealth management strategies as well as ancillary services to streamline operations, risk management techniques and strategies to grow the wealth of entrepreneurs and their employees.

Managed a portfolio of 120 borrowing and deposit-only relationships consisting of $65MM in loan commitments and $40MM in deposits. Consistently exceeded new business development goals and worked closely with product partners to maximize portfolio growth and cross sell opportunities.

Fleet Boston Financial, Providence, RI 1997-2004

Vice President, Commercial Lender – Business Banking Division

Managed the East Bay, RI market working directly with businesses requiring lending needs up to $5MM. Responsibilities included, deepening the customer’s penetration while increasing the overall satisfaction of the commercial customer’s experience and thus increasing relationship profitability.

Vice President, Credit Specialist – Business Banking Division. 1995-1997

The first employee/prototype of the Credit Specialist/Credit Liaison position for the Bank. Responsibilities included complex credit analysis and loan structuring, presentations to senior loan committee and interacting with officers as a liaison between the credit branches and the lending branches of the division. Developed a comprehensive job description and formulated training requirements required for this position going forward. Presently all major lending institutions are utilizing some form of this personnel function in some form or another.

RECOLL Management Corporation, Boston, MA 1993-1995

Assistant Vice President – Loan Recovery Officer.

Managed a $25mm portfolio of distressed credits including commercial, residential and C&I loans. Responsible for the preparation of credit ratings from the analysis of financial statements and trade credit as well as economic trends. Enforce portfolio compliance with the corporation’s sole contracting agent, the FDIC. Analyze, structure and negotiate retirement of troubled debt and submit resolution proposals to management. Top ranked officer out of a total of 65 similar Recovery Officers.

Attleboro Pawtucket Savings Bank, Pawtucket, RI 1988-1993

Loan Officer – Collections Supervisor

Managed a portfolio of non-performing commercial, consumer and residential loans. Restructured problem loans and coordinated foreclosure actions. Developed formal collection procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities. Responsible for construction and implementation of the Bank’s first on-line computer collections system.
