Hired for Sasol Chemical Operations (SCO) as safety officer during the yearly Shutdown to oversee all contractors for scaffolding, sandblasting, spray Painting, insulation, chemical cleaning, HP cleaning and rigging activities. During the 2016 shutdown I assisted with the removal and replacement of the acid gas scrubber column, weighing 91000kg and 60m long, helping in the removal of un-authorized employees of involved and surrounding plants, giving advice and assisting with all activities to ensure it was carried out safely. Finished the shutdown without any incidents and received recognition for perfect site attendance, which consisted of 90% plant visibility.
